FY 26 Community Funding Request Guidance
U.S. Congressman Tony Wied released the application for Community Project Funding (CPF) requests for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations process.
CPF is a process that allows Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. This process includes robust eligibility, ethics, and transparency guidelines and is only available to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, as well as some non-profits.
Requests must meet the following requirements:
- Community Support – Only projects with evidence of strong support from the community will be considered, and evidence of this support and community need is required as part of your submission.
- Financial Disclosure Statement – Members and their immediate family are prohibited from having a financial interest in the proposed project.
- Federal Nexus - To ensure a federal nexus exists for each funded project, the Committee will only fund projects that are tied to a federal authorization law. Requests must include a written statement describing the federal nexus for each Community Project Funding request.
- Maximum of 15 requests - Members of Congress may request no more than 15 CPF requests across all eligible accounts.
Requests should include specific information on the project's benefits to the people throughout Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional district in Brown, Calumet, Door, Kewaunee, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, and Winnebago Counties.
Sponsors must demonstrate the merits of their projects by completing this form. In addition, sponsors must submit a demonstration of community support, such as a letter of support. Submissions should be sent to WiedApprops@mail.house.gov.
Requests made by governmental entities will receive priority consideration.
The submission deadline is COB on April 25, 2025.
You can fill out the form HERE.
Please note that while our office is accepting Community Project Funding requests related to our district, there is no guarantee that your request will be supported and submitted to the House Appropriations Committee.
