Congressman Wied Statement on the American Relief Act of 2025
Washington, DC — Rep. Tony Wied (R-WI) released the following statement on his vote in favor of the American Relief Act of 2025.
"I vocally opposed this week’s initial Continuing Resolution that would have continued Washington’s reckless spending spree and doled out billions of taxpayer dollars to unnecessary and harmful projects and programs. Fortunately, I am glad that we were able to come to a deal that will fund the government through March, support Wisconsin’s farmers, provide much needed relief to hurricane victims, and give President Trump the flexibility to implement our shared agenda next year," said Wied. “While this legislation isn’t perfect, it greatly limits the damage Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer want to continue to inflict on the American people during their last days in power. Alternatively, a government shutdown is just a taxpayer-funded paid vacation for federal bureaucrats."
“I look forward to getting to work with President Trump and the House GOP in the new year to present a balanced budget that will rein in reckless government spending and finally get our national debt under control."
